What you'll learn:
When IndiGo embarked on its fuel efficiency transformation, the airline faced the challenge of merging diverse data streams, from ACARS, flight planning, and FDR to load and AOC data, into a unified analytics platform. Working with OpenAirlines since 2021, the team spent six months on rigorous data validation to ensure accuracy, transitioning from legacy Excel tracking to a Big Data-driven system powered by machine learning and AI. Joining the SkyBreathe® Community allowed IndiGo to benchmark operational KPIs, exchange best practices, and identify new areas for improvement, with real-time data available within three days of each flight.
Pilot engagement was strengthened through the SkyBreathe® Pilot App, giving them direct access to their performance data and encouraging active participation in fuel-saving initiatives. The results included smoother data integration, more informed decision-making, empowered pilots, and measurable progress toward cost savings and sustainability, all driven by a collaborative, digital approach.
