30 airlines meet up for major fuel efficiency conference

The 4th edition of OpenDay, the SkyBreathe® User Conference, has taken place in March 2023 in the beautiful city of Toulouse!

Over 60 aviation professionals from 30 airlines gathered in the “Pink City”,  home of OpenAirlines and the renowned capital of aeronautics, for three days of fuel efficiency.

Pioneering a sustainable future for aviation

This event occurred as airlines strive to reduce their environmental footprint to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 while remaining competitive in the market. OpenAirlines' eco-flying solutions hold significant importance in this scenario, as reflected by the widespread implementation of SkyBreathe®, adopted by 56 airlines globally.

The decarbonization of aviation is a major undertaking for which the entire sector must come together, as discussed in our recently published ebook "Decarbonizing Aviation Mission Possible". That’s why we brought together key players in airline operations during our OpenDay "Together We Are Pioneers" to meet, discuss and imagine new practices to reduce fuel use and lower CO2 emissions from flights. 

The biggest fuel efficiency conference to date! 

OpenDay is held every year and a half and brings together all users of the SkyBreathe® fuel efficiency tool. Previous OpenDays were held in Paris in 2015, Reykjavik in 2017, Dubai in 2018, and the 2020 event was canceled due to Covid. This year, it took place in Toulouse on March 20, 21, and 22, 2023, and was our biggest fuel efficiency event yet! It was held in our offices near Capitole, at the Meeting Lab and Aeroscopia, the Aeronautics Museum we had privatized for the occasion.

OpenDay is an essential meeting for all our customers who wish to tackle the decarbonization of air transport and discover the latest innovations in the field, obtain more advice and techniques to improve their operations and reduce their CO2 emissions and fuel bill. This year, the 60 participants from30 airlines of all shapes and sizes (low-cost, flag carriers, cargo...) had the unique opportunity to connect with their peers from over 25 countries.
