Fuel efficiency in aviation is a collective effort that requires engagement from multiple stakeholders, with pilots playing a crucial role in its success. However, effectively integrating fuel-saving practices into daily operations requires building trust, ensuring accuracy in flight planning, and being equipped with the right tools for decision-making.
In this discussion, Sławomir Miszczak, Operations Manager at EnterAir, shares insights about the use of the SkyBreathe® software by the airline's ground teams and flight crews.
Two key elements are emerging from this conversation:
We were looking for a way to involve our flight crews and introduce them to the company's solution. The Academy seemed like the best option for involving pilots and explaining the application, how it works, and how we can benefit from it.
The results have been very positive, especially because we integrated the course into our recurrent training and made it mandatory. I believe this was key to its success, and we received excellent feedback from the flight crews.
Our overall experience has been very good. We appreciate the customization options for the training. Now, we're exploring the possibility of integrating the training into our own platform using the content prepared by OpenAirlines.
I think the most important thing is to build trust and a positive attitude within the flight crews toward what we are doing.
We need to convince them of the importance of fuel efficiency. From my perspective as a dispatcher, it’s also crucial to show flight crews that the operational flight plans and flight packages we prepare are accurate and reliable, so they can trust them.
