What inspired you to pursue a career in aviation?
"Throughout my bachelor's studies, I undertook a project for Icelandair, an Icelandic airline, which ignited my fascination for the dynamic aviation industry, presenting new challenges on a daily basis. During my postgraduate studies, I delved into the realm of optimization. Currently, as a program manager specializing in fuel efficiency, I apply optimization techniques daily, working towards the dual goals of cost reduction and minimizing CO2 emissions."

How do women's perspectives help accelerate the transition toward sustainable aviation?
"Women have been historically underrepresented in the aviation industry. Encouraging more women to join the sector can bring in fresh ideas and innovations. This diversity of thought can lead to the development of new technologies and strategies that enhance sustainability in aviation."

A word of wisdom for the future generation:

"I would recommend building a strong network. Connect with mentors, peers, and industry professionals. A supportive network provides guidance, insights, and opportunities for growth. Seek out those who inspire and empower you."

What inspired you to pursue a career in aviation?
"Almost finishing my degree in aeronautical engineering and still fascinated by airplanes just like day 1. It´s really impressive watching a big and heavy machine flying through the air like if it was a light feather. Working in fuel efficiency projects makes me feel like I contribute to a more sustainable and innovative future, while saving as much resources of the present."

How do women's perspectives help accelerate the transition toward sustainable aviation?
"I think we are really good at finding creative ways to encourage other people to join this fuel efficiency community and raise awareness about why this is important for everyone."

A word of wisdom for the future generation:

"There is always an answer to everything. If it is not visible at first, figure it out and get creative!"

What inspired you to pursue a career in aviation?
"I started my career in aviation as cabin crew 9 years ago, attracted by the possibility to travel and see the world. After a few years of being on the frontlines of the airline, I have started to discover the complex mechanisms of the aviation industry. That's when I decided I wanted to dive deep into operations and moved to the Flight Operations department, where I was introduced to fuel efficiency, the SkyBreathe tool, and, in general, to a great group of people lit up by the idea of reducing the CO2 footprint of the whole industry. It is very motivating to go to work every day, knowing that so many people share the same idea of making aviation more environmentally friendly."

How do women's perspectives help accelerate the transition toward sustainable aviation?
"I associate women with nature and the Earth, as we are able to create life through pain and endurance. I believe women feel the urgency of transition towards sustainable aviation and are ready to take action to achieve this."

"Be curious, learn, and don't be afraid to ask. Don't limit yourself; you can achieve anything you desire."
