# IAG selects SkyBreathe® to support fuel efficiency across its airlines

LONDON, 29 SEPTEMBER 2026 – [International Airlines Group (IAG)](https://www.iairgroup.com/) has selected OpenAirlines’ SkyBreathe® fuel-efficiency platform for use across its airlines.
[SkyBreathe®](https://www.openairlines.com/fuel-management-software/) analyses operational data to help airlines identify opportunities to reduce fuel consumption. It will be deployed across Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, LEVEL and Vueling, supporting more than 600 aircraft. As geopolitical events add to pressure on fuel prices, even small efficiency gains across a large fleet can help reduce costs.
The platform analyses a range of data, including flight plans, weather conditions and aircraft performance, to identify potential fuel-saving opportunities and help airlines improve fuel efficiency without compromising safety. IAG's airlines already operate a range of fuel-efficiency initiatives, including optimising flight plans, reducing the use of auxiliary power units while aircraft are on the ground and using reduced-engine taxiing where operationally appropriate.
These initiatives have historically been tracked through different systems. SkyBreathe® will introduce a common data and reporting framework, helping IAG airlines measure performance more consistently and share successful initiatives across the Group.

The platform is already in use at Aer Lingus, Iberia, LEVEL and Vueling, with British Airways expected to complete its rollout in the coming months.
