# OpenAirlines becomes a certified B-Corporation

We are proud to join the [B-corp](https://www.bcorporation.net/en-us/) global movement among 2,800 companies worldwide. B Corps are important because they inspire all businesses to compete not only to be the best in the world, but to be the best FOR the world.
Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
To obtain B Corp Certification, OpenAirlines participated in the rigorous B Impact Assessment process, which evaluated everything from OpenAirlines' operations and business model impact on workers, community, environment, and customers to supply chain, charitable giving, and employee benefits. OpenAirlines secured an overall score of 92.1 in its B Impact Assessment, exceeding the minimum score of 80 needed to attain B Corp status (the average score for organizations assessed for B Corp status is 50 points).
