Mumbai, India, [Sept. 24, 2025]: Akasa Air, India’s fast-growing airline, has announced its partnership with OpenAirlines, a global leader in fuel efficiency solutions for aviation. Akasa Air will implement SkyBreathe®, the innovative solution developed by OpenAirlines, to optimise its fuel management and carbon footprint while driving efficiency in its flight operations. The analytics-led solution will enable the airline to analyze flight data in a more precise manner and identify fuel-optimising opportunities.

Through artificial intelligence and big data algorithms, SkyBreathe® 360° eco-flying platform provides actionable insights, allowing airlines to highlight fuel-optimising opportunities, drive operational efficiency, engage airline professionals in sustainable practices, and significantly reduce their environmental footprint.

SkyBreathe® leverages the world’s largest fuel efficiency database, which includes over 21 million recorded flights, providing the airline with a comprehensive tool to enhance its operations, reduce fuel consumption by up to 5% without aircraft modifications, and cut CO2 emissions. The platform’s user-friendly interface is designed for easy and team-oriented use and is accessible to various actors, including pilots, dispatchers, maintenance engineers, and fuel managers.

Commenting on the partnership, Belson Coutinho, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Akasa Air, said:

“As one of the greenest airlines in the world, sustainability is deeply ingrained in Akasa Air’s core values. We have undertaken a holistic and action-oriented approach, launching several initiatives that offer an environmentally progressive travel experience. Our growth story is well-aligned with our commitment to sustainability, and our partnership with OpenAirlines is a testament to this vision. By leveraging SkyBreathe®’s advanced analytics, Akasa will have access to deeper insights into our operations and unlock meaningful opportunities to optimise fuel use and emissions. This collaboration reflects our unwavering focus on driving innovation that supports our environmental goals while delivering operational excellence.”

With this partnership, Akasa Air joins the growing SkyBreathe® Community, which includes more than 75 airlines worldwide. This community fosters collaboration, enabling airlines to share insights, experiences, and best practices to advance the industry toward operations with lower environmental impact collectively.

“We are thrilled to welcome Akasa Air to the SkyBreathe® Community, joining the global movement towards a more sustainable aviation industry,” said Alexandre Feray, CEO at OpenAirlines.

“Their rapid growth and focus on operational efficiency make them a strong fit for our solution. SkyBreathe® will empower them to achieve measurable fuel savings, reduce CO2 emissions, and optimise their operations as they expand.”

This collaboration showcases how innovation, operational efficiency, and environmental responsibility can work together to achieve a more sustainable future for aviation.
