Maintenance and aircraft performance at SkyUp Airlines

One of the biggest challenges airlines face is accurately monitoring aircraft performance while ensuring that fuel efficiency strategies are based on reliable data.

In this interview, Oleksii Poliukhovych, Flight Operations Manager at SkyUp Airlines, shares how his team navigates these industry-wide challenges.

How has SkyBreathe® Analytics impacted your overall flight operations?

SkyBreathe® Analytics is a powerful tool for data collection, interpretation, visualization, and analysis. It gives us the possibility to analyze vast amounts of data, which directly translates into improved performance and better fuel efficiency.

Can you share an example of a situation where SkyBreathe® Analytics helped you identify and implement fuel-saving initiatives?

We once received data indicating that one of our planes had increased its fuel consumption. This kind of information spreads quickly among pilots, leading to increase the pilot extra fuel.
Thanks to SkyBreathe® Analytics, we were able to analyze the data and share the findings with our pilot management team, confirming that the aircraft's performance was actually within normal limits and not overburning.

How has SkyBreathe® MyFuelCoach contributed to your overall fuel efficiency goals?

Flight operations contribute to 30% of the fuel savings. SkyBreathe® MyFuelCoach has been a key factor in that achievement.

It's a great tool for post-flight analysis, allowing pilots to review their actions and improve their performance in the future. It also encourages healthy competition within the pilot network, motivating everyone to achieve better fuel efficiency.

What benefits have you observed from using SkyBreathe® NewGen APM in fine-tuning your fuel factors?

The main benefit is time savings, as I no longer have to spend as much time analyzing data and making calculations. The quality of the recommendations is excellent, which makes the tool very useful.

How can SkyBreathe® NewGen APM* improve your ability to maintain and optimize aircraft performance?

With SkyBreathe® NewGen APM , we spend less time on calculations and can set parameters much more quickly.

What did you think of OpenDay 2024?

I really enjoyed it. First of all, it's a great community with so many skilled professionals from all over the world. It was interesting to have conversations with them, and the presentations and workshops were amazing. Toulouse is also a beautiful city: green, peaceful, and relaxing.
