Air Tahiti Nui and OpenAirlines signed a contract to implement his leading software SkyBreathe® Fuel Efficiency in order to allow the airline to save 2 to 5 % of fuel consumption.
Taking in acount that air transport is responsible for more than 2% of CO2 emissions worldwide (equivalent of Germany’s CO2 emissions) as well as 30% of an airline costs, implimenting SkyBreathe® is a must.
Thanks to Big Data and smart algorithms, the software automatically gather and analyzes large amount of available data in flight data recorders, Maintenance data, Flight plan software, OCC etc. to compute very accuratly each flight consumption and indicate precisely opportunities to save more fuel, based on the airline SOP’s and best practices. Synthetic and detailed dashboards are automatically available for the management chain to take the good decisions. Each pilot can use the native iPad application MyFuelCoachTM which allows them to replay their flight in 3D and improve their performances in terms of fuel efficiency.
In May 2015, Air Tahiti Nui announced its intention to replace its entire fleet, currently consisting of five Airbus A340-300s. They will be replaced by four Boeing 787-9s, less greedy in fuel. Combined with SkyBreathe® Fuel Efficiency solution, this decision will push Air Tahiti Nui to reach a new level of exceptional performances and benefits.
